Health and Safety

One MaxXP saves around $2 million per mine site per year. It conserves approximately 150 of your machines.

Health and Safety

What testing and risk assessment been carried out to ensure that the machine does not introduce unacceptable risk to the mine?

The machine has been designed with Safety Health of the operator in mind.

  • Machine systems have been designed to ensure all lifting is acceptable. Filters do not have to be lifted above waist height. The cabinet has an automatic closure to ensure all dust is contained.
  • The operator is protected by fail safe functions that prevent any opportunity to be caught between operating components.
  • The dust removed from the filter is removed and safely disposed of using a three stage cleaning process. Monitoring and testing by a NATA approved organisation has been undertaken in the vicinity of the operating machine to ensure there are safe level of air born contaminants. This could be reassessed in the mine site environment.
  • Noise testing by a NATA approved testing authority has been undertaken, however, a site installation would need to be reassessed to ensure noise levels remained at acceptable levels for the work environment.
  • An overall risk assessment of the operation and maintenance on the machine would need to be conducted as part of any mine site installation.
  • The machine is supplied with an operation and maintenance manual that identifies all safety hazards.
  • The machine is designed to meet all mine site electrical standards.

Cost reduction

Air filter cost in a large open cut mining operation could be reduced by 50%. On a mobile equipment fleet of approximately 100 machines, this could result in a saving of approximately $500,000.

Better Environment

Reducing the usage of filters will result in a reduction on site of filter inventories. Currently, most filters end up in a land fill after a single use; costly and wasteful use of land, energy, and materials.

Machine reliability

Data collection from the machine would enable machine maintenance tactics to be optimised on filter changes and to identify operating practices that impact on filter life.

Reduced transport cost

An onsite installation could also result in a significant reduction in transportation costs, especially for remote/Isolated mine sites.
