Company Profile

Who is ADPS and what experience and expertise does the company have in filter cleaning and Diesel Engine maintenance?

Australian Diesel Particulate Services (ADPS) is a filter cleaning Technology Company based in Emerald Queensland. ADPS has been an integral part of the diesel air filter cleaning business for nearly a decade. Our primary focus is on improved air quality whilst reducing harm to the environment and saving costs. We accomplish this by setting the standard for innovation in technology.

Together with our sister company Emerald Diesel Pump & Injector Services we have been providing expertise in diesel engines and emissions reduction strategies for underground coal mines throughout Queensland and New South Wales for the last 25 years.

Company leaders are members of the:

  • Queensland Diesel Particulate Committee (since 2006).
  • Standards Australia, Diesel Engine Systems for Underground Coal Mines, WG04 Emissions, Committee. (AS/NZS 3584.1 and AS/NZS 3458.4)
  • Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists.

ADPS has also been the sole innovator for the Queensland Mine Inspectorate DPM steering committee since 2005 resulting in a transformation of Underground Coal Mining equipment DPM levels from 180mg/m2 in 2005 to below 20 mg/m2 in 2016.

The company has cleaned over 37,000 filters in the past six years. (garth, how can we set up an automated counter on this?)

Cost reduction

Air filter cost in a large open cut mining operation could be reduced by 50%. On a mobile equipment fleet of approximately 100 machines, this could result in a saving of approximately $500,000.

Better Environment

Reducing the usage of filters will result in a reduction on site of filter inventories. Currently, most filters end up in a land fill after a single use; costly and wasteful use of land, energy, and materials.

Machine reliability

Data collection from the machine would enable machine maintenance tactics to be optimised on filter changes and to identify operating practices that impact on filter life.

Reduced transport cost

An onsite installation could also result in a significant reduction in transportation costs, especially for remote/Isolated mine sites.
